Step 10: Application Security
Application security contains criteria to control encryption of files, disabling of features in Spreadsheet Server, and changing system-delivered passwords used to access and/or process various functions in Spreadsheet Server.
- From the Application Configurator panel, select the Application Security tab. The Application Security panel appears.
- From the Application Configurator panel, select the Application Security tab. The Application Security panel appears.
- Use the following table to enter data in the Application Security panel:
- Click Save, then Yes, to push the changes to the network location.

AI Feature Controls - Detailed Configuration
The AI Feature Controls allow administrators to manage which AI capabilities are available to users. The default behavior leaves AI features enabled.
Disabling AI Features
- Open the Application Configurator and navigate to the Application Security tab.
- Locate the Lineos AI Features Controls section.

Check the boxes to disable one or both AI capabilities.
- Click Save and push changes to the network.
- Close and reopen Excel for changes to take effect.
Configuration Scenarios
Just AI Data Assist Disabled
When AI Data Assist is disabled, users retain access to AI Doc Assist for documentation assistance, while AI Data Assist features for data analysis remain unavailable.
Just AI Doc Assist Disabled
When AI Doc Assist is disabled, users retain access to AI Data Assist for data analysis assistance, while AI Doc Assist features for documentation remain unavailable.
Both AI Doc Assist and AI Data Assist Disabled
When both features are disabled, no AI capabilities are available in Spreadsheet Server. This configuration is suitable for organizations with strict AI policies that prohibit the use of AI features.
Note: Some organizations may not have concerns enabling AI Doc Assist but might have policies restricting AI Data Assist. The controls provide flexibility to enable or disable features based on organizational requirements.
