Snowflake
This article describes General Ledger application settings that apply to all users licensed to use the General Ledger feature, when using a Snowflake General Ledger type.
Prerequisites
- Spreadsheet Server version 25.4 or later
- For Key Pair authentication, admin should generate a Private Key or Encrypted Private Key for use
Configuration Steps
- From the Application Configurator panel, select the Connections tab and create a new connection.

Select the Snowflake option under the dropdown menu.
- Give the connection a name. This is the name that will show up on the left side menu once saved. When creating queries or formulas, this is the connection name that will display.
- Use the following table to enter data in the Snowflake panel:
Connection Fields
Field Description Connection Name - Specify the connection name.

Snowflake Account Specify the Snowflake Account. For more information, see Snowflake Account Documentation. Database Name Specify the Snowflake Database Name. For more information, see Show Databases Documentation. Schema Name Specify the Snowflake Schema Name. For more information, see Show Schemas Documentation. Authentication Type - Select the authentication method.
- Two options are available: Browser SSO or Key Pair.
Authentication Type: Browser SSO
When Browser SSO is selected:
Field Description User Name
Specify the user name.
SSO Login
- Prompts the user to log in via SSO to validate the connection.
- Login frequency depends on cached token expiration times defined by the Snowflake SSO Admin.
Authentication Type: Key Pair
When Key Pair is selected:

Field Description User Name
Specify the user name. Private Key File
- Load or copy the Private Key File.
- Copy the entire key including the header and footer.
Key Password
- Specify the Key Password for encrypted Private Keys.
- Leave blank for non-encrypted private keys.
- Saving and Testing: Click Save to save the connection.

Click Test to confirm a successful connection.
Button Function Test
Displays a message in the Results field indicating whether or not the connection was successful.
