Administrator Timeout Controls

From Spreadsheet Server version 25.4.3, IT administrators can password-lock the SQL Timeout, Drill Down Timeout, and Query Timeout fields, preventing end users from modifying values that can impact transactional system performance. When a timeout field is locked, a lock icon appears next to the field. End users must enter the administrator password to edit the value. The field re-locks automatically after each update.

Key Details:

  • Available in Spreadsheet Server version 25.4.3 and later
  • Applies to SQL Timeout (Standard Options), Drill Down Timeout (Drill Down Options), and Query Timeout (Query Options)
  • Lock behavior is consistent across both the Legacy UI and the New UI
  • The feature must be enabled in the Application Configurator
  • The administrator password is configured in the Passwords section of the Application Security tab in the Application Configurator
